Sunday, November 30th

  

  • CONSTABLEVILLE-Get Ready for Festive Fun in Constableville! Make plans to join us Sunday, November 30th from 1:00–3:00 PM as we kick off the holiday season at Constable Hall! Stop by the Hall for an afternoon filled with Christmas cheer: Christmas crafts, Make-your-own s’mores,  Sliding (weather permitting!) Photo ops with our “new” old sleigh — perfect for those Christmas pictures! Then at 3:00 PM, we’ll move over to the Constableville Library for even more holiday magic:  A reading of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” by “Mary Eliza Constable”  Gingerbread house making (Children must sign up at the library to ensure a kit!) And we’ll wrap up the festivities with the annual Constableville Tree Lighting and Christmas Caroling at the gazebo at 5pm. Come help us kick off the holiday season in true Constableville style — fun, family, and festive traditions for all. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

  •  LOWVILLE-Monday, December 1st, Kits and Crafts at the Lowville Free Library. Pick up all the pieces you need to make a craft on the first Monday of the month (with special crafts thrown in!). Typically kits just need glue and markers!

 

  • CROGHAN-Croghan Lions have just harvested fresh Balsam boughs, and production of their Christmas Wreaths has begun. Order by December 1st and they will deliver a fresh, full wreath to your front door, barn, or local business. Support local, and help the Lions support the community.     • OLD FORGE-Tuesday, December 2nd, The Old Forge Library will have Sensory Play-Bubble Painting at 10:30 am.  This program provides a safe and inclusive environment for neurodiverse patrons and community members to explore textures, sounds, and visual experiences.  Sensory play encourages creativity, relaxation, focus, and cognitive engagement for participants of all abilities.  It can reduce stress, promote mindfulness, enhance motor skills, and provide opportunities for social interaction and self-expression.  The program is open to all ages and abilities.     • LOWVILLE- Anchor Recovery Center of Northern NY will have an alternative to 12-Step Meetings, called “All Recovery” on Tuesdays from 1-2pm at 7714 Number Three Rd in Lowville.  They welcome all who struggle with addiction, are affected by addiction, or support the recovery lifestyle. 

     

    • BOONVILLE-Summer Story Hour with Mrs. Hannah every Tuesday at 10am at the Erwin Library in Boonville. Every Tuesday Mrs. Hannah will read a specially picked story, have a fun craft, and delicious snack! Children of all ages can come enjoy the fun! Cost: FREE

     

    • LOWVILLE-Join the Lowville Free Library for a weekly storytime, every Tuesday morning at 11 am with books, songs, movement, and crafts! We start each morning with 10-15 minutes of playtime, then read together, do some movement and interactive fun, and finish up with another activity like a craft or game. 

     

    • BOONVILLE-Erwin Yarniacs Meet every Tuesday from 1-3pm at the Erwin Library in Boonville to work together on their knitting and crocheting projects. This group is for all levels, from beginner to advanced, and together will help you get the project done.

      

     

    Wednesday, December 3rd

     

    • LOWVILLE-12/03 The Lewis County Historical Society will be holding its Annual Holiday Festival through December 7th from 10-4 each day.     • MARTINSBURG- The annual Lamplighter Service for the West Martinsburg Church is December 3rd at 7pm. This is a nondenominational service in a historic building with a recent outside steeple restoration, restoring an old tradition. Refreshments will follow.

     

    • OLD FORGE-The Old Forge Library, located at 220 Crosby Blvd., free crafting projects for the ever-popular Wednesday Night Crafts. These creative evenings will have a festive seasonal focus, Sessions begin at 5 pm and are designed to offer a fun, social atmosphere for all ages. Pipe cleaner Christmas tree on December 3rd, a nutcracker ornament on December 10, and a recycled Oui jar Hanukkah menorah on December 17. These craft nights are open to everyone and are both family and senior-friendly. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult. While all supplies are provided at no cost, quantities are limited, so participants are encouraged to reserve their spot in advance. Funding for the Craft Get-Togethers is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with support from Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature. Craft supplies for Fall 2025 were purchased with support from the Adirondack Community Foundation of the Adirondacks Generous Acts grant round.     • LOWVILLE-Knitting Group at the Lowville Free Library on Thursday, December 4th from 6-8pm. 

     

    • BOONVILLE-The Toe Path Trekkers have their Thursday evening run and walks starting at 6:00pm. We are open to all and you may select your distance. Some walk strollers around the loop in Erwin park while others may run 10 miles on the towpath. We meet at the Lansing, upper Pavilion, off Moose River Rd in Erwin Park. They have water at the 1.5 mile distance on the towpath. Check out our Facebook pages and message there with questions.

Directed by F. Peter Billard, Vicky Stockton Allen and Gayle Ballard. Remsen Community Band performs a Traditional Christmas program with two audience sing alongs and Sleigh Ride song. There will be items such as wood works, knitting, crocheting, jewelry and other one of a kind creations and gifts. Baked goods will also be available. Come and start your Christmas shopping!

    • TURIN-The Black River Valley Business & Community Alliance in conjunction with Boonville Environmental Conservation Council will have an event “Warmth for your Sole” on Saturday, December 6th from 10 am til noon at the Village of Turin Public Library.  They will be distributing free Christmas Gift Bags packed with a hat, gloves, socks, and a neck warmer.  There will be festive Christmas music, fresh baked cookies, hot cocoa and coffee.  This event is open to the public and everyone is welcome.  

     

    • BOONVILLE-Knights of Columbus Annual Christmas Tree Sale on Saturday, December 6th from 9am until sold.  121 Aubrey Ave.  Trees go fast, come early.  Sales will benefit the Community Christmas Fund.

     

    • BOONVILLE-The First Presbyterian Church Boonville will be hosting their annual Christmas Bazaar at the church Saturday, December 6th from 9:30sm – 1:30pm. There will be wreaths, cookies, Christmas items and other items for sale. There will also be a limited menu lunch either for eat in or take out. The menu will be macaroni & cheese, chili, pie and beverages. The church is on the corner of Church and James Streets. Parking lot is in the back.

    • COPENHAGEN-14th Copenhagen Auxiliary Holiday Expo Craft Fair Saturday December 6th 10 am to 2pm at Copenhagen Central School Cafeteria and Gym.  Use Loud St Entrance.  $1 admission fee, enjoy lunch at their food table.  Proceeds to benefit the community and not for profit organizations.

     

    • LOWVILLE-Weekend activities for youth ages 13-21 at Maple Ridge Center on Saturdays from 12-4pm.     • FORESTPORT-St. Patrick’s Thrift Shop in Forestport will be open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon beginning Saturday, April 5 and will be open Saturdays through the fall. Donations are accepted and will go towards the food pantry.

    • CONSTABLEVILLE-Tickets on Sale at St. Mary’s for Fabulous Christmas Gifts Constableville. St. Mary’s is trying something new in their fundraising efforts for their youth and Faith Formation activities, and this change could help ticket holders with their Christmas shopping! That is because the first-place winner will receive a Virtual Reality Headset, the second-place winner will receive a 50” smart television and the third-place winner will receive a ten-inch tablet. The drawing will be livestreamed after the 10am Mass on December 21st. Tickets are $5 a piece, or 5 for $20.     • JEFFERSON/LEWIS COUNTIES:  Are you in an immediate mental health crisis?  You are not alone.     • LEWIS COUNTY-Dial-a-Ride & Free Rides for Seniors with Lewis County Public Transportation.  Dial-a-Ride provides curb to curb transportation in Lewis County.  Call in advance, schedule your trip, and get picked up at home.  Call 315-376-5313 if you’re a senior, and ride for free.  

     

    •  LEWIS COUNTY-Lewis County Office for the Aging offers a home delivered meal program where meals are delivered Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with a frozen meal available for Tuesdays and Fridays providing 5 meals total throughout the week.  This program is for people 60+ who are more home bound and maybe unable to make healthy balanced meals for themselves. They also have Community dining sites where people 60+ that are more independent can gather and have lunch together Monday through Thursdays all of which serve around 11:30am-11:45am  Croghan- Steepleview courts.  Harrisville - Harris Courts. Lyons Falls - McManus Hotel  Copenhagen- Copenhagen United Church.  Lowville - Maple Ridge Center. These Programs are funded by Federal, State, and local sources. There is a suggested Contribution of 3.50 per meal. Cash, checks, and SNAP are accepted.

     

    • LOWVILLE-Medical Equipment loan program by the Lowville Lions.   The Lions Club is able to provide gently used medical equipment to members of the community.  Hospital beds, canes, walkers, bathroom supports, Hoyer lift, and more.  All of the equipment can be loaned at no cost.  Donations are also accepted to replenish their supply.  Contact This email address is being protected from spambots.     • LEWIS County-Friendly Calling & Visiting Program for older adults.  Do you know someone who could use a friendly call or visit throughout the week?  The Lewis County Office for the Aging has Volunteers for that.  Please give their office a call at 315-376-5313 with the name of someone who could use somebody for a visit or a check-in,  and they will be set up.  They are looking for volunteers who are willing to go into the homes of our older adults for companionship, having a cup of coffee together, helping out around the house, running errands or even shopping with them or for them.     • LOWVILLE-Lewis County Office for the Aging offers screening for memory concerns.  For more information contact the office for the aging at 315-376-5313.  If needed, individuals will be connected to health care professionals for a full evaluation and appropriate treatment.

     

    • LOWVILLE-The Lewis County Office for the Aging is currently recruiting volunteers to assist with their Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance Program.     • BOONVILLE-Applications for next season’s Hometown Hero banner are available for pickup at the American Legion and the VFW.  Anyone wishing to obtain a Hometown Hero banner for 2026 must have their application in by Jan 30th. The program is open to any past or current service member with ties to the greater Boonville area.     • BOONVILLE-Dodge Pratt Northam Art and Community Center in Boonville  is having a Got Sneakers fundraiser .  Drop off your old shoes at 106 Schuyler Street in Boonville Monday through Thursday 12-5pm.  By recycling your old sneakers with GotSneakers, you’re keeping waste out of landfills and giving your shoes a second life.

    • BOONVILLE-Stars now available at 119 Main St in Boonville for the Wish Upon a Star Christmas gift program. Every year for over 30 years, our church has sponsored a program to provide gifts to local children who need a holiday gift and clothing. Each child resides in the Adirondack School District. Each star represents a child and has the gift wish, clothing size and any special requests. You may select a Star, purchase what is listed, and bring it unwrapped to First Presbyterian Church on Monday December 8 between 4-7. Our community has been generous in years past and local families need your help now more than ever. Please stop in and select a Star, or two, and help local families.

    • LYONS FALLS-Santa Claus is coming to Lyons Falls Sunday, December 7th.  He’s leaving the Lyons Falls Fire House at 1pm and will ride in the Lyons Falls Fire Department Fire Engine.  His route will be Franklin St, Laura St, Center St, Markham St, Cherry St, High Falls Apartments, and Upper McAlpine St and Lower McAlpine St.  Santa Elves will be distributing toys and cookies.

    • BOONVILLE-This December 11th, at 3:00pm, Santa is coming to Erwin Library! This is your opportunity to meet Santa Claus, enjoy a festive Christmas story, and decorate a delicious cookie.     • BOONVILLE-The Adirondack Community Chorus (ACC), directed by Peg Nuspliger will be having a winter concert  “A Classic Christmas” will be performed on Saturday, December 13th, 2 p.m. at Boonville Presbyterian Church. “No audition is required to participate in our concerts,” Director Nuspliger said. “If you like to sing, and can commit to our rehearsal schedule, come join us.” Rehearsals will be on Sundays at 1 p.m. at Forest  Presbyterian Church.

    • BOONVILLE-The Adirondack Community Chorus, directed by Peg Nuspliger, will present their 49th annual Christmas Concert, “A Classy, Brassy Christmas,” on Saturday, December 13th, 2 p.m., at Boonville Presbyterian Church, 121 James Street. This year’s concert features double choirs, each with sopranos, altos, tenors and basses, and a double brass quartet, each with two trumpets and two trombones. Instrumentalists in the brass quartets are teachers of music education and performers from around the Central New York region.

     

    • CONSTABLEVILLE-Saturday December 13th and the 2nd Saturday of every month, join Constableville Library for Chess Club from 11am -1pm.  All levels and abilities are welcome.  Join them to learn how to play Chess.  

     

    • CROGHAN-The next Stone Soup Drive-thru Dinner at Croghan Mennonite Church on the Kirschnerville Rd will be Thursday, December 18th starting at 4 p.m. We will be serving Ham, Scalloped potatoes, Corn, Roll and dessert. All are welcome to this free meal!

    • BOONVILLE-Bingo Night sponsored by Boonville Environmental Conservation Council every other Wednesday this winter.  Wednesday January 7th, 21st, February 4th, 18th, March 4th, 18th. Games start at 6pm.  At the Harland J Hennessey VFW Post 5538 in Boonville.  All players must be a minimum of 18 years of age.  100% of the proceeds benefit programs in Boonville brought to you by the Boonville Environmental Conservation Council.

    • OLD FORGE-Brandon Reese Memorial Ice Fishing Tournament February 7th and 8th from 7am -3pm at 4th Lake in Old Forge.  $25 registration fee, cash prizes and door prizes.  All proceeds go to Brandon’s daughter and son.
