
Greenwich, NY, formerly of Port Leyden- Judith “Judy” Anne Teresa Smith Korman, 85, of Greenwich, New York, Washington County, wife of William Korman, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at her residence, while under the loving care of her husband, family and hospice.
Judy was born in Lowville, on November 2, 1940, a daughter to Edwin and Evelyn Hutchins Smith. She grew up in Port Leyden, and graduated from Port Leyden Central School, with the Class of 1958 and later attended Central City Business Institute, Syracuse. She was united in marriage with the love of her life, William J. “Bill” Korman, on February 7, 1959, at St. Martin’s Church, Port Leyden.
Later the couple settled in Ballston Spa, NY, where they lived for nearly 50 years and during that era Mrs. Korman was employed as a secretary for the Quality Control Office, at the United States Army Watervliet Arsenal, for several years in the 1980’s and 90’s. In 2016, the couple moved to Greenwich where they had since made their home with their daughter, Jacki and son in law, Kevin Chamberlain.
In addition to her husband, Rill, her loving partner during their 66 years of marriage, she is survived by one daughter and son in law, Jacki and Kevin Chamberlain. She was predeceased by her only son, Billy, on March 17, 2003 and by her brother, Bill, in 2024. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Kate and Josh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 12 :00 Noon, at St. Martin’s Church, Port Leyden, where the Rev. Daniel Chapin and Deacon James Chaufty will preside. Interment will be on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, at Saratoga, NY. Calling hours are Saturday, November 29, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
