DWI charges filed against Lewis County resident in Croghan

CROGHAN- A Lewis County area resident is faced with intoxicated driving charges in the North Country.

Timmy E. Smith, 55, of Castorland, NY was arrested and charged late Saturday afternoon by the New York State Police (Carthage) for one count each of DWI (first offense) and operating a motor vehicle (w/a .08 of 1% BAC or greater).

Troopers said this arrest was made shortly after 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the town of Croghan.

At press time, authorities said that an investigation was still pending. Meanwhile, Smith was issued with an appearance ticket.
