FRIENDS OF LEWIS COUNTY HOSPICE: Vacant building in Castorland to become hospice facility

LEWIS COUNTY- An empty building in Castorland, NY is aimed to soon become a hospice facility.

Friends of Lewis County Hospice has confirmed this development with Flack Broadcasting and we anticipate a follow-up on-air segment sometime in the near future.

In the meantime, officials say the plans include transitioning this vacant structure, which is owned by the state, into a full-time hospice site.

Once up and running, the facility would be able to care for up to six people at once in a setting so they can live out their remaining time in life in comfort.

Friends of Lewis County Hospice says Lewis County Government is doing their part, as the state is expected to eventually hand the property over to the county.

The site in question used to be a housing facility for people with developmental disabilities.
