Have you received your New York Inflation Refund Check? Governor Hochul claims more than 8-million have been mailed out as of Thanksgiving

ALBANY, NY- Have you received your New York inflation refund check?

According to Governor Kathy Hochul, over 8-million checks have been mailed out to eligible state residents as of Thanksgiving.

The largest program of its kind in state history, Governor Hochul introduced this idea via New York’s FY 2026 state budget.

Though the main phase of mailing these checks is now complete, officials say there will still be checks mailed in small numbers over the next few weeks as the State Tax Department determines that additional taxpayers are eligible.

“We followed through on our commitment to deliver meaningful relief to hard-working New Yorkers, and will continue, every day, to look for additional opportunities to deal with the nation’s ongoing affordability challenge,” Hochul said.

Here in the North Country, over 155,000 people have met the eligibility requirements to receive some sort of an inflation refund check. In the Mohawk Valley, that number is flirting with 200,000.

Though the Governor has been a staunch advocate for these refund checks, the move has been met with criticism from lawmakers who represent the North Country area.
