
LOWVILLE- A person from the Western Adirondacks is facing felony and misdemeanor accusations for allegedly engaging sexual acts with a juvenile under the age of 15.
Last Wednesday, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Kaitlyn Makey, 18, of Old Forge, NY on two felony counts each of rape in the second-degree and two misdemeanor counts each of endangering the welfare of a child.
These charges reportedly stem from a child abuse referral that was made on March 23, 2026.
Investigation suggests that Makey allegedly engaged in sexual acts with a male juvenile on two separate occasions in the village of Lowville, NY.
At the time, the juvenile was less than 15, authorities clarified.
At press time, police said that Makey was arraigned and released.
There were no further details provided.
