Local woman charged with criminally possessing controlled substance: NYSP

WHITESBORO- A local woman is accused of a drug possession accusation in the Mohawk Valley, authorities say.

Kelly M. Banas-Merrill, 54, of Holland Patent, NY was arrested by the New York State Police (Marcy) shortly after 9:00 p.m. Thursday. She is officially charged with one misdemeanor count of criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.

According to Troopers, the arrest was made in Whitesboro, NY.

At press time, police said an investigation was still pending. Banas-Merrill was released on an appearance ticket.
