LEE- Serious injuries were the result of a motorcycle v. vehicle collision late Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, it happened sometime around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Thomas and Link Roads.
As of this report, investigators have determined Connor Swinney, 19, of Rome, NY was operating a Kawasaki Motorcycle east on the Thomas Road and smashed into the passenger’s side of a Chevy Impala that was trying to turn left onto Link Road.
Robert Switzer, 49, of Camden, NY is reportedly the person who was driving the Impala.
Due to what authorities described as serious injuries suffered in the accident, a LifeNet Helicopter flew Swinney to SUNY Upstate Medical Center.
However, despite being serious in nature, Swinney’s injuries do not appear to be life threatening, emergency responders said. Switzer did not report any injuries to authorities.
The Sheriff’s Office said that Switzer was issued with unspecified traffic citations.
