Reckless endangerment investigation in Herkimer County results in charges filed against local resident

NEWPORT- A local resident from Herkimer County is faced with numerous charges stemming from a reckless endangerment complaint earlier this month.

Mitchell A. Hoskey, 55, of Newport, NY was arrested by the New York State Police (Herkimer) on Tuesday evening for one misdemeanor count each of acting in a manner injurious to a child (under 17), menacing in the second-degree (stalking), reckless endangerment in the second-degree and reckless driving.

According to Troopers, all of these charges stem from an investigation in the town of Newport, which commenced on April 12.

At press time, police said that Hoskey was issued with an appearance ticket.

There were no further details provided.
