REPORT: Apparent ATM theft at Lewis County ATM early Monday has authorities investigating

CROGHAN- Emergency officials say that police responded to a theft early Monday at a Lewis County ATM.

According to emergency figures, it happened some time before 4:00 a.m. at the Northern Credit Union in Croghan, NY. 

Details remain sparse and we have reached out to authorities for more information. 

As of this report, the New York State Police confirmed that this case is being handled by the Sheriff's Office.

In a statement released from Northern Credit Union, officials confirm that there is no indication to suggest that any member account information is compromised.

No employees were present during the attempted theft and no injuries were reported.

Northern Credit Union continues monitoring the situation and will continue working closely with members of law enforcement.
