REPORT: Local emergency figure proposes expansion for LCSR to help solve local EMS issues

LOWVILLE- Two options have been put forth after consulting group CGR completed an independent study on best solving the current EMS issues haunting Lewis County and beyond, but a local emergency official has surfaced with a third option.

Lewis County Search & Rescue Chief of Operations, Josh Levesque, recently spoke with reporters from WWNY-TV about his $3.5 million expansion for search & rescue.

Levesque touched on the idea last year and his latest remarks reflect the same – and that would be establishing a unit in each county corner, including new ambulances, equipment and improved wages for paramedics.

As discussed this week with Lewis County Manager Timothy Hunt, the two options derived from the study would involve the use of Lewis County Health System taking over patient transfers, or the county starting up its own EMS service.
