Suspect who illegally operated gas scooter charged with over a dozen traffic law violations by Boonville Police

BOONVILLE- A suspect who was reportedly operating a gas scooter illegally in the village early Tuesday morning is accused of over a dozen traffic law violations.

It was sometime around 5:15 a.m. when patrols observed a suspect operating a gas scooter, illegally, on Main Street, near Schuyler Street.

When officers attempted to stop the suspect, they reportedly fled to State Route 12 and headed north into Lewis County.

A follow up investigation led police to identifying the suspect as Hayden C. Buckingham, 22, of Boonville, NY.

Buckingham was located at his place of residence, where he was formally arrested and charged on 14 violations of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law, of which were not specified.

Buckingham has been scheduled to appear in Boonville Town Court at a later date.
