Sophia T. Rosinski

Sophia T. Rosinski, 96, of Littleton, Massachusetts, a former resident of West St, Boonville, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Life Care Center at Nashoba in Littleton, where she had resided for the past five years.

Affectionately known as Sophie, she was born on January 9, 1930, in Boonville, New York, on her family’s farm on Potato Hill Road at the onset of the Great Depression. She was the daughter of Blaze and Margaret (Kowalik), who immigrated from Poland through Ellis Island in 1909. Sophia was the youngest of nine children: three brothers, Zigmund, Joseph, and William, and five sisters, Mary, Anna, Evelyn, Lena, and Helen.

Sophia’s life was guided by her deep faith in God. After attending secretarial school in New York City, she worked in Utica, New York. It was there that she met Alfred Rosinski at Kitlas Dance Hall in Utica. The two were married on May 21, 1955.

The couple settled in New York Mills, New York, where Alfred worked at Rome Air Force Base. In 1961, Alfred was transferred to Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Massachusetts, and the family relocated with their son Greg and daughter Cindy. Two more sons, Mark and Stephen, were later born, completing their family of six.

Sophia is survived by her eldest son, Gregory Rosinski; her daughter, Cindy Irwin and her husband David Irwin; her son Stephen Rosinski and his wife Heidi Rosinski; her daughter-in-law Deborah Rosinski; her sister Helen Garbarino; a special niece and her husband. She is also survived by her grandchildren, along with many beloved great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Alfred Rosinski, and son Mark Rosinski, her parents, and many siblings.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church of Christ Our Hope Catholic Community, 108 Charles St. Boonville, with Rev. Thomas Ward officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Boonville.
