UTICA- The attempted murder trial for Aaron Alshaman continued on Wednesday with more witness testimony.
Jennifer Gudnaya, the Secretary to the Oneida County Sheriff, took the witness stand and detailed a brief relationship she shared with Alshaman, which started in the fall of 2023 and reportedly while he had another girlfriend, according to the latest updates from WKTV.
Though their relationship had fizzed out by winter of 2024, Gudnaya gave birth to a son two months pre-maturely later on that August.
Results from a paternity test showed a 99.9% probability that Alshaman was her son’s father.
She testified how Alshaman inquired about an abortion and apparently did not accompany her to any doctor’s appointments, nor did he visit his son while hospitalized for several weeks.
Regardless, Gudnaya testified that the two did settle on a child support amount and that he did begin paying her.
Jurors were also shown the neighboring surveillance video, which shows someone walking up to Gudnaya’s parents home and then walking away with flames burning.
Alshaman is accused of setting the fire while his son’s mother and her folks were inside during the spring of 2025.
Gudnaya will be back on the witness stand today for cross examination from the defense.
