ONEIDA COUNTY- Authorities say there is a connection locally to the latest threat this week that was made to shoot up Clinton Middle School.

The Sheriff’s Office has been tasked with handling the investigation and details are still developing, but officials did confirm that a juvenile in the town of Boonville was interviewed in connection with the threat.

As a result, various firearms were voluntarily turned over to authorities from the residence.

To clarify, Sheriff’s Investigators stressed that the juvenile, who was interviewed in the town of Boonville, is not a suspect in the case.

With that said, police did not provide any further explanation as to how the juvenile is connected to the threat, which suggested that a shooting was to take place in the Clinton Middle School cafeteria this Friday, April 17.

For now, three suspects in total are facing charges, including two females, ages 13 and 14, are faced with misdemeanor aggravated threat of mass harm.

Meanwhile, the third teenage suspect, a 13-year-old male, was charged with a felony of conspiracy in the second-degree.

The investigation remains ongoing and further charges may be filed. Anyone who may have information that could assist investigators is asked to contact 315-765-2226.
