Cocaine, crack cocaine and various drug paraphernalia found in latest Rome drug bust: NYSP

ROME- Authorities have announced two arrests in a major drug bust this week.

With assistance from Rome City Police and their Counter Terrorism Unit, the State Police and their Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team executed a search warrant on Thursday at an address on the second floor of 400 Lawrence Street.

Once the raid was finished, police collected more than one-half ounce of cocaine; over one-eighth ounce of crack cocaine and various drug paraphernalia, including a drug cutting agent, a scale, packaging materials and a drug ledger.

As a result of the investigation, Vicent N. Hobson, age 32, of Rome, NY, was arrested and charged with felony counts of criminally possessing a controlled substance in the third-degree.

Hobson was arraigned in Rome City Court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail without bail.

In addition, Nihada Sabanagic, age 32, of Rome, NY, was also arrested and charged with a misdemeanor of criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.

Sabanagic was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Rome City Court at a later date.
