ALBANY, NY- 175 recruits just successfully endured training for the 218th session of the New York State Police Academy and among them are a handful from the North Country area.

“I commend these new Troopers for their commitment to public service and making our state a safer place for those who live, work and travel through New York,” said Governor Kathy Hochul.

“I am confident they are equipped to carry out our mission to serve our communities with the same professionalism and pride the State Police have exhibited for the past 109 years,” said New York State Police Superintendent Steven G. James.

A special commencement ceremony was observed this past Wednesday and this new pool of Troopers will report on Saturday to begin a 10-week field training period.

Here within our local listening area, a handful of recruits have successfully joined the ranks of the New York State Police:

  • Daniel M. Cramer, Copenhagen, NY.
  • Daniel W. Ortlieb, Boonville, NY.
  • Connor T. Yager, Poland, NY.
