ONEIDA COUNTY- A roll-over accident Monday morning sent one person to the hospital.

It was sometime after 8:00 a.m. when emergency responders were dispatched to the Bell Hill Road, town of Deerfield.

Sheriff’s Deputies learned a Smooth Drum Roller for Deerfield DPW was heading in an easterly direction.

The driver, identified as Shane Bailey, 54, of Newport, NY reportedly claimed that the machinery lost power and was unable to control the equipment. Bailey ended up going off the roadway, which caused the rig to tip-over onto its side and leaving him entrapped.

Fortunately, Bailey was eventually freed from the wreckage and was treated at Wynn Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Members from the New York State Police Maynard Fire Department, Deerfield Fire Department and Kunkle Ambulance all assisted.
