Woman allegedly threatened to blow up Rome apartment while police responded to overdose

ROME- A local resident is facing charges for allegedly threatening to blow up an apartment building.

This development comes to light after the city police department responded to a reported overdose Sunday morning in one of the upstairs apartments at 601 North Washington Street.

During their investigation, police spoke with Courtney Robinson, 42, who reportedly became irate and uncooperative. It is reported that while police were communicating with Robinson, she remarked how she had turned the gas on in her apartment and was going to blow up the building.

Police said she possessed a lighter and tried several times to light it. Robinson was subsequently taken in for a mental health evaluation after making remarks claiming that she no longer wanted to live.

Following that evaluation, she was taken back to Rome Police Headquarters, where she was charged with attempted arson in the second-degree.

Robinson was processed and taken to the county jail, pending an arraignment.
