Jefferson County burglary leads to arrest of North Country area suspect

WILNA- A North Country area resident is faced with felony and misdemeanor accusations in the wake of a reported Jefferson County burglary early Friday.

William A. Carroll, 40, of Natural Bridge, NY has been formally arrested and charged by the New York State Police (Carthage) for one felony count each of burglary in the third-degree (illegal entry w/intent to commit a crime) and criminal mischief in the third-degree (damaging one’s property with amounts exceeding $250).

Carroll was also charged with one misdemeanor count each of possessing burglar tools and petit larceny.

Troopers said these charges all stem from a reported town of Wilna burglary shortly after 2:00 a.m. Friday.

At press time, authorities said that Carroll’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment.
