Lewis County resident arrested for alleged DWI in town of Edwards

EDWARDS- A traffic stop late Monday night in St. Lawrence County resulted in a DWI arrest for a North Country resident.

David William Briggs, 62, of Harrisville, NY has formally been arrested and charged by the New York State Police (Gouverneur) for one count each of DWI (first offense) and operating a motor vehicle (w/a .08 of 1% BAC or greater).

Troopers report that this arrest was made during the 9:00 p.m. hour Sunday in the town of Edwards.

At press time, authorities said that Briggs was issued with an appearance ticket.
