
LEWIS COUNTY- A local resident is faced with numerous gun related charges in the North Country.
On Monday evening, the New York State Police (Watertown) announced the arrest of Melissa M. Blanchard, 45, of Glenfield, NY on various misdemeanor counts of criminally possessing a weapon in the fourth-degree (convicted felon has rifle/shotgun/antique firearm), private sale or disposal of a firearm (background check failure) and conspiracy in the sixth-degree.
Troopers said these charges were filed in the village of Port Leyden, NY.
Meanwhile, Blanchard has another pair of charges filed from another case in the town of Watson, including criminally possessing a weapon in the fourth-degree (convicted felon has rifle/shotgun/antique firearm) and private sale or disposal of a firearm (background check failure).
For those charges, authorities said at press time that an investigation was still pending.
Blanchard was issued with an appearance ticket. There were no further details provided.
