Lowville resident arrested twice in same day for alleged incidents that occurred within hours of one another

MARTINSBURG- A local resident is accused of a pair of charges that stem from two separate Lewis County incidents within hours of one another.

During the noon hour on Sunday, Brian R. Sprowl, 53, of Lowville, NY was arrested by the New York State Police (Lowville) on one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief (w/intent to damage property).

For this incident, Troopers said they responded to reports of a domestic dispute only about an hour before the arrest was made.

Later that same afternoon sometime after 5:00 p.m., Sprowl was arrested again, this time on a misdemeanor criminal contempt charge (disobeying court order).

To clarify, Troopers said these incidents both occurred in the town of Martinsburg.

At press time, Sprowl’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment.
