Collision between pick-up truck and motorcycle claims life of one in Oneida County

ONEIDA COUNTY- A fatality has been confirmed after a motorcycle struck a pick-up truck over the weekend in the town of Verona.

Troopers and emergency responders were dispatched sometime around 4:30 p.m. Saturday to the scene of a collision on State Route 365 at Blackmans Corner intersection.

According to State Police investigation, Clayton C. Bellows, 66, of Clinton, NY was driving a 2018 Chevy Silverado.

Bellows stopped at Blackmans Corner and was attempting to cross traffic. This is when Bellows was struck by a westbound motorcycle.

Vincent P. Grasso, 30, of Rome, NY was operating the motorcycle and was in the passing lane when the collision occurred.

Grasso suffered fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased by authorities on scene, the State Police said.

Meanwhile, Bellows was not reported to have suffered from any injuries.

At press time, police said an investigation remains ongoing.
