Sheriff’s Investigators announce major narcotics, weapons bust from over the winter in Oneida County

ONEIDA COUNTY- Details involving a major narcotics and weapons bust last winter have surfaced from Sheriff’s Investigators in Oneida County.

It was during the early hours of January 14 when patrols in Yorkville, NY stopped a Jeep that resulted in a DWI arrest for John Taubert, 27, of Holland Patent, NY.

Upon their initial inspection, officers said they discovered various ammunition, ammunition magazines and narcotics.

Approval for a search warrant was submitted for later on that same day and while authorities began executing that warrant, which resulted in the discovery of two illegal handguns and more narcotics, it is reported that a wave of numerous other crimes were committed all at once throughout Yorkville as a direct attempt to draw law enforcement away from further search of the vehicle.

These crimes included suspects kicking doors in, throwing bricks at homes and damaging parked vehicles.

However, those efforts were not entirely successful thanks to the assistance from New York Mills Police, Whitesboro and Whitestown Police, New York State Police and Sheriff’s Deputies.

This development has all blossomed from a multi-month investigation, which resulted in the arrest of four more individuals, including a pair of male juveniles, who have been traced back to the state of Maryland (due to their ages and youthful offender status, there will be no further details provided).

At the conclusion of the investigation, the Yorkville Police Department charged Ramel Poole, age 29 of Utica, NY and Tationna Sook, age 23 of Yorkville, NY with multiple felony and misdemeanor level crimes.

On May 4, Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Sook for the following charges:

-Conspiracy 5th (Class A Misdemeanor)
-Criminal Mischief 2nd (Class D Felony)
-Criminal Mischief 3rd (Class E Felony)
-Reckless Endangerment 2nd (Class A Misdemeanor)
-Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2 counts, Class A Misdemeanors)

Sook was processed, arraigned at CAP Court and released on her own recognizance.

Sheriff’s Investigators obtained an arrest Warrant for Poole, who was located by Investigators of the Sheriff’s Warrants Unit last Thursday. His charges are:

-Conspiracy 5th (Class A Misdemeanor)
-Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2 counts, Class A Misdemeanors)

Poole was processed, arraigned at CAP Court and released on his own Recognizance.
