NEW: Lewis County Republican Committee nominates Brian T. Hanno as Treasurer candidate

LOWVILLE- The Lewis County Republican Committee has formally announced their candidate to replace Lewis County Treasurer, Eric Virkler, who has stepped down.

According to the Republican Committee, Brian T. Hanno has been nominated to run in the upcoming General Election on November 3, 2026.

Mr. Hanno's nomination was made by his father, Douglas Hanno, former Lewis County Clerk, and seconded by the present Lewis County Clerk, Jake Moser, and former Lewis County Republican Committee Chairman Randall Schell, and unanimously approved by the Committee, according to committee officials.

Mr. Hanno has been the Purchasing Director for Lewis County since 2022, and resides in Lowville, NY with his wife, Julie, and their three children.

He graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School in 2007 and Western New England University in 2011 - earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an Accounting major and a minor in Entrepreneurship.
