LOWVILLE- Lewis County is preparing for its annual Night Out event, which is aimed for the evening of Friday, September 11, 2026.
For those who may not be familiar, National Night Out is a national event across the country to bring communities together with their local law enforcement to help establish and build upon positive relationships.
Here in Lewis County, this event is opened up to all critical agencies, including local police and fire departments, EMS, DEC and the list goes on.
Community members can meet with their local police officers, volunteer fire and ems, DEC and others, all while learning what they do and getting up close to their vehicles and equipment.
A major goal for Lewis County Night Out, according to officials, is to provide folks the opportunity to make connections for future career options.
There is no admission fee and there will be various local vendors on site, including things like food, raffle tickets and dunk tank throws.
There will be scheduled demonstrations for spectators to check out, which will include helicopter landings & take-offs (weather pending and availability), K-9 demos and views from drones.
The event will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lewis County Fairgrounds in Lowville, NY.
