LOWVILLE- A prominent intersection in the village is aimed to have a do-over, as officials are citing safety concerns.

Village officials say the intersection of East State and Bostwick Streets will be re-designed amidst a string of minor crashes and close calls.

This development is according to the latest from WWNY-TV. With the newly erected sports fields just a few blocks away, there has been a notable traffic increase through the area.

To help make the intersection safer, village officials told reporters the triangular island will be removed and replaced with what will end up being the main driving lane.

The move is intended to help increase visibility for drivers looking up and down East State Street at the intersection.

Most of the work is supposed to be executed by local village crews. Work is expected to commence within the next month.
