REPORT: Ongoing legal battles continue in Copenhagen as photos allegedly show fire trucks on private property

COPENHAGEN- Legal battles continue between the village and the former fire department amidst the latest photos appearing to show a pair of former Copenhagen fire trucks on private property.

These photos are being reported and obtained via WWNY-TV.

For context, a court order completely forbids any fire trucks from being vacated from the former fire station.

Village mayor Mark Souva told reporters that local officials have been keeping track each time a fire truck is taken out and how it violates the court order.

A village vote four-years-ago disbanded the fire department and a legal battle has dragged on since over who rightfully owns the firefighting equipment.

The order in question, which was first filed in 2023, states how Copenhagen fire trucks must remain within the firehouse and should only be used for routine or preventative maintenance.

If the trucks are ever taken out for those purposes exclusively, the order reads that the village must be notified.

The attorney representing the village declined comment to reporters.

Though the Sheriff’s Office has various police reports on file from the village, the feud has been deemed a civil case, not a criminal one.
