UPDATE: Sheriff's Deputies say three car personal injury accident Monday night south of Port Leyden remains under investigation

LEYDEN- A portion of State Route 12 in Southern Lewis County has re-opened following a personal injury accident that involved three vehicles.

According to the Sheriff's Office, it happened shortly after 9:00 p.m. on State Route 12 in the town of Leyden, near Willow Lane.

The occupants from all three vehicles involved were taken to Wynn Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, emergency responders said at press time. 

A portion of State Route 12 was briefly shut down while emergency responders were on-scene.

Sheriff's Deputies said the investigation remains ongoing. The occupants' names were not provided.

Port Leyden Fire and Ambulance, Turin and Boonville Ambulance, along with Lyons Falls Fire Department all provided assistance. 

The New York State Police, New York State DOT, Lewis County Emergency Management and Unlimited Towing also responded.
