Carthage Man Facing Aggravated D.W.I., Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, and Criminal Contempt Following Accident in W. Carthage
VILLAGE OF WEST CARTHAGE-A 40 year old Carthage man is facing D.W.I. and other charges following a two vehicle property damage accident that occurred Saturday evening on Bridge Street in the Village of West Carthage. New York State Police from the Carthage Station charged Joseph P. Ritz with one count each of Driving While Intoxicated-First Offense, Aggravated D.W.I. per se with a Blood Alcohol Count of .18 of 1% or More Alcohol in Blood with No Priors, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree; all Class U misdemeanors. He was also charged with Criminal Contempt in the 3rd Degree-Failure to Obey Court Order; a Class A misdemeanor. Ritz was issued appearance tickets and will answer the charges at a later date.
