Emergency responders report non-serious injuries after vehicle snapped utility pole Saturday near Forestport

ONEIDA COUNTY- Injuries that were deemed to be non-serious were the result of a driver that crashed their car into a utility pole and snapped it Saturday afternoon near Forestport, NY.

It happened on a curve along State Route 28 just north of where the snowmobile trail used to cross the roadway, according to emergency responders who were on scene.

Forestport Fire Department was the primary responder that took the call. Emergency officials say a female driver somehow hit the pole and snapped it, causing a widespread power outage that extended as far north as Old Forge, NY area.

A portion of State Route 28 was closed down while police and emergency responders worked the scene.

This is not the first occasion for this specific area. In fact, sources from the local area claim that same pole has been known to get hit it seems at-least once per-year.

We have yet to receive any further official word from police investigators who were on scene.
