ICE coming to New York? Border Czar Homan threatens action if state law is passed that would limit partnerships between local law enforcement and Immigration agents

ALBANY, NY- Could a wave of ICE be coming to New York?

According to U.S. Border Czar Tom Homan, he will be taking action and “flood” the state with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents if the legislature enacts a proposed bill that would ultimately limit partnerships between local law enforcement and ICE – specifically for non-criminal violations.

The measure is known as the ‘Local Cops, Local Crimes Act’ and was first introduced by Governor Kathy Hochul back in January.

While giving a speech this last Tuesday, Mr. Homan called the proposal “ridiculous” and warned that if local authorities refuse cooperation with ICE agents, then “we’re going to flood the zone.”

“You’re going to see more ICE agents than you’ve ever seen before. So, congratulations.”

In response, the Governor snapped back to the Border Czar’s remarks. “All I’ll say to Mr. Homan, is that Donald Trump himself said he would not send a surge of ICE agents to the state of New York unless I asked. I am not asking,” she emphasized.

On the other hand, the Governor has made clear that she will work with ICE for when it comes to cases dealing with dangerous criminals.
