ICYMI: Jury condemns Alshaman on four attempted murder charges and arson; faces up to 25-years behind bars

UTICA- A guilty verdict has been reached in the trial of a former Oneida County Sheriff’s Deputy, who stood trial this month for attempting to burn his son’s mother’s folks’ house down a year ago in April.

After deliberating for over an hour on Thursday, the jury condemned Aaron Alshaman on four counts of attempted murder and arson.

These latest reports are according to sources from WKTV.

Alshaman, of Lee, NY, is now convicted of setting the back porch of his son’s grandparents ablaze.

His infant son at the time, along with his mother and her folks, were all inside the Kellogg Avenue home when the flames sparked in the middle of the night on April 9, 2025.

The prosecution presented various security footage and GPS data to the jury that proved Alshaman was not only in the direct area when the fire was set, but he was also on duty.

The prosecution sent nearly 3-dozen witnesses to the stand for the for this trial, which commenced on June 15.

Only one witness was brought forth from the defense.

With Alshaman’s sentencing now looming next on the horizon, it is reported that he faces up to 25-years in state prison.
