LOWVILLE- Lewis County government is seeking input from the community as preparations are underway to update the latest Comprehensive Plan.

Lewis County residents, business owners, farmers, students and community partners are all invited to attend an upcoming public workshop Wednesday, July 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Town Hall Theater.

Officials say the Comprehensive Plan is a community-driven roadmap that will guide decisions on housing, jobs, healthcare, agriculture, recreation, transportation, natural resources, and the overall character of the county.

County officials encourage broad community participation to ensure that the plan reflects the perspectives, priorities, and hopes of those who call Lewis County home.

The workshop will begin with a presentation on current trends affecting everyday life in the county including economic conditions, population changes, land use, and public services, followed by an open discussion where attendees can ask questions, share ideas, and identify opportunities and challenges shaping Lewis County’s future.

While registration is not required to attend, participants are encouraged to sign up (register online here).

Popcorn and light refreshments will be provided. Everyone who signs in will be entered to win two rodeo tickets to the Lewis County Fair.
