NYSP: Aggravated harassment charge filed against Poland resident in town of Newport

NEWPORT- An aggravated harassment complaint this week in Herkimer County resulted in the arrest of a local resident.

On Tuesday morning, the New York State Police (Herkimer) arrested and charged Dennis J. Taylor, 39 of Poland, NY with one misdemeanor count of aggravated harassment in the second-degree (threat by telephone w/no legitimate purpose).

Troopers said this arrest was made in the wake of a complaint Tuesday morning in the town of Newport.

At press time, police said that Taylor’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment.

There were no further details provided.
