Oneida County resident charged with felony DWI while riding ATV on Tug Hill

OSCEOLA- A resident from Oneida County is accused of felony intoxicated driving while ATV’ing on Tug Hill.

On Saturday, patrols from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office said that Bonnie L. Tanner, 36, of Taberg, NY had been operating a Honda ATV on the Deerhart Road in the town of Osceola.

According to police, Tanner’s ATV all of a sudden quit running. Upon further investigation, police said that Tanner appeared to be intoxicated, however; she initially refused field sobriety tests before she was taken in to the Public Safety Building, where she then reportedly refused chemical testing.

Due to prior convictions, Tanner was formally charged with felony DWI. She was also cited for other traffic infractions.

Tanner was subsequently issued with appearance tickets, with all charges returnable to Osceola Town Court at a later date.

Members from the New York State Police, West Leyden Ambulance and Miller’s Auto Body all assisted.
