
***Updated version*** HAMILTON COUNTY- A fatal plane crash in the Adirondack Mountains is under investigation by area authorities.
It happened shortly after 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Piseco Airport, town of Arietta.
According to the latest updates from Sheriff’s Investigators, Kenneth J, Andreu, 74, of Valhalla, NY was flying a single engine aircraft from Poughkeepsie, NY.
While approaching the Piseco Airport, Andreu’s aircraft crashed about 150-yards from the runway. Andreu was the sole occupant when the crash occurred.
For now, authorities are still looking into what caused the crash to occur. With that said, the FAA and NTSB have both stepped in to handle the rest of the investigation.

For now, the Sheriff’s Office can confirm one fatality as a result of this incident, though a name of the victim was not available for this report.
Details are still developing and further information is expected. With that said, investigators can say that a single engine plane crashed.
