REPORT: Rome murder suspect appears in court for motion hearing over DNA sample

UTICA- The suspect accused of stabbing someone to death earlier this spring in the city of Rome, NY appeared in Oneida County Court this week for a motion hearing over a DNA sample.

This development is according to the latest from WKTV. Gregory Mignot Jr. is accused of murdering Michael Brown, 31.

It was only last month in July when Mignot Jr. declined a plea deal from the Oneida County District Attorney for 22 years to life. Instead, the case is expected to move to trial.

Mignot Jr. appeared in court Monday for a hearing, where Judge Robert Bauer granted a motion via the District Attorney’s Office to take a sample of his DNA.

Mignot Jr. is due back in court after Labor Day Weekend.
