TROOPERS: Lewis County resident accused of DWI in Jefferson County

ADAMS- A traffic stop late Tuesday resulted in a DWI arrest in Jefferson County.

Following a New York State Police (Adams) investigation, Carl N. Hoppel, 23, of Castorland, NY was formally charged with one count each of DWI (first offense) and operating a motor vehicle (w/a .08 of 1% BAC or greater).

According to Troopers, these charges were filed shortly before 11:00 p.m. Tuesday in the town of Adams.

At press time, police said that Hoppel was issued with an appearance ticket.

There were no further details provided.
